The votes are in. It took a little longer to count them this year, but it was worth the wait. This year, 241,531 New Yorkers voted on the Working Families Party line for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand — a new record!

We entered Election Day hopeful, but incredibly nervous. By the end of the night, we were elated. As our friends and families celebrated President Obama’s reelection and the impressive gains in the U.S. Senate, we cheered developments closer to home.
