Matthew Cain here, online organizer at the Working Families Party.
Over the last month or so, seeing GOP frontrunner Herman Cain drag the “Cain” name through the mud has been tough. But today, he crossed the line by weighing in on New York state politics.
He came out for a giant tax cut for millionaires, and for letting the oil and gas barons hydrofrack to their hearts’ content in upstate New York.[1]
Politico reports that Herman Cain’s pizza is awful.[2] It couldn’t compare to a good New York slice. And it comes as no surprise that Cain’s policies are as bad as his pizza.
These are two issues near and dear to our hearts at the WFP, and Herman Cain couldn’t be farther from the mark.
Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers are still jobless, and Cain thinks it’s the millionaires and billionaires who need a break? Please. Instead, we’re calling on Albany to extend the millionaires’ tax, and put New York back to work.
As for fracking, I guess it’s easy to support a policy that could endanger the water supply for hundreds of thousands of people in upstate New York, if you’re all the way in Georgia.
Surprisingly, Herman Cain is still leading the Republican field for President, so we have to pay attention to what he says.
Tell Albany: New York doesn’t need Herman Cain’s views on politics any more than we need his pizza recipe.
