New York – The Working Families Party announced today its endorsement in three Special Elections for New York State Assembly: Peter Harckham (Westchester, 89th AD), Lauren Thoden (Suffolk, 7th AD), and David Weprin (Queens, 24th AD).
“As Chair of the City Council’s Finance Committee I focused on protecting the interests of working and middle class New Yorkers,” said David Weprin. “That’s why I am so proud that the Working Families Party joined my campaign to bring experienced leadership to Albany. No one in New York has been a stronger champion for the middle class.”
“With record unemployment and a growing budget deficit, New Yorkers need leaders who will put working families first now more than ever,” said Dan Cantor, Working Families Party Executive Director. “These three independent, progressive candidates have what it takes to make change in Albany.”
