Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been blanketing the airwaves with attack ads on taxes, but they just don’t pass the smell test. Today, Working Families Party Executive Director Dan Cantor explained why:
“Bill Thompson has taken a courageous stand by demanding that New York City’s millionaires pay their fair share in taxes. Mayor Bloomberg knows working families support Thompson’s stance, so he’s going on the attack. But his wall-to-wall negative ads ring hollow when the Mayor himself has constantly flip-flopped on taxes over the last eight years.
“While Mayor Bloomberg practices politics as usual, Bill Thompson is focused on progress. That’s what the working families of New York City want, and that’s why the WFP is backing Bill Thompson for Mayor.”
