Bill Thompson – a Mayor for Working Families

In making our decision to endorse Bill Thompson for mayor, the Working Families Party engaged with our members and supporters more fully than ever before. Thousands of voters asked questions, prioritized their concerns,  watched the debate, or took part in our internal deliberations.

Thompson believes that city government must always put the middle class and working families first – ahead of the real estate developers and corporate interests that have dominated our city for too long. In a Thompson administration, Wall Street won’t be the only street that matters anymore. Flatbush Avenue, Queens Blvd., The Grand Concourse, Victory Boulevard, and 125th St will have a real voice in City Hall.

In our Mayoral Forum, the candidates had a chance to address the most important issues facing the next mayor: affordable housing, education, transportation, jobs and small businesses. Thompson is the candidate who understands that the balance on all these topics has been tilted in favor of the wealthy and powerful, be they real estate developers or corporate interests. To thrive, New York needs a mayor who lives and breathes the interests of the middle- and working class families that make up the vast majority of New Yorkers.  Bill Thompson is that mayor.
