WFP Mayoral Forum

Working Families is pretty darn happy to announce the details of the first Mayoral Forum of New York City’s electoral season:

When: Thursday, July 2nd, 5-8 pm
Where: Hotel Trades Council
Who: Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Comptroller Bill Thompson, and Councilmember Tony Avella

This event will be 2009’s first open Mayoral Forum with all three candidates. We’ll be interviewing them one after another, focusing on the issues that matter most to New York City’s working families.

We’re going to feature a few innovations – at least as far as the WFP is concerned. First, the event will be webcast live on our site. We’ll have a chat section next to the video content, allowing the audience to interact in real time as the forum proceeds. Second, we are rolling out the carpet for New York City’s blogging community. They’ll be set up with bandwidth and a seat near the action to offer impressions of the candidates and the forum.

The questions asked will reflect the priorities of our supporters. A few weeks ago we asked them to rank the issues that they care about the most, to help us shape the content of the interviews.

If you’re a blogger and want to attend – email me at clenchner (@) workingfamiliesparty.org.
