Landlords Need Love Too

Well here’s something you don’t see everyday – an advocacy email from a real estate firm trying to drum up some sympathy.

Unemployment is up. Foreclosures are up. Why shouldn’t your rent be going up as well? After all, that’s the way it’s supposed to be. Landlords raise the rent, when they want, however much they want.

But a new package of bills supported by the Working Families Party and tenant advocates could change all that. They want to keep NY affordable, and hundreds of their supporters have signed their online petition.

At this very moment we are facing a serious threat. Our Republican allies in the Senate have been defeated by an unholy alliance of Democrats and the Working Families Party. They seem intent on preventing us from jacking up rents as we see fit, and their campaign is picking up steam in Albany. We need that extra income – our homes in the Hamptons depend on it.

If these Working Families people get their way, New York will end up with stronger rent laws that make a difference for millions of tenants. What will happen to us then!?

After visiting their whiny petition we are sure you’ll want to help us strengthen the voice of landlords and real estate investors. Let your friends and family know about the WFP’s misguided petition.

With the help of hindsight, let me make something loud and clear: The Working Families Party is not about to hunt down the landlords of owner occupied brownstones with one or two units for rent. That’s what they say, anyways….
