Last week we asked WFP supporters what they thought should be done about the AIG bonus scandal. The response was amazing – nearly one thousand of you gave us a piece of your mind.
Here is a small selection of answers to the question ‘what else should we do with the AIG executives awarded big bonuses?’ You said:
Jail time seems appropriate.
Let them keep up to $250,000 and return or tax the rest.
imprisonment for theft and fraud.
Nationalize AIG and the banks.
Break up AIG.
Get the Attorney General to prosecute AIG for fraud.
Support Andrew Cuomo’s investigation of AIG
Make any response to AIG part of a broader solution to bonuses.
We also recieved over 500 responses to the question ‘do you have anything else to add’? It’s difficult deciding what to do with these comments, as so many have intimate details about hardship and hard feelings. How should we present those comments on this site? Give us your opinion below.
