As the economic downturn continues, the consensus behind asking the wealthy to pay their fair share in taxes only grows. A Quinnipiac University poll released on December shows record support – among Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike – for raising taxes on the wealthy to help close New York’s budget gap:
“…voters support 84 – 13 percent raising the state income tax on people who make more than $1 million per year. Even Republicans back this millionaires tax 72 – 27 percent.
